What is ADHD?

ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurodevelopmental disorder that can impact both children and adults. It may affect concentration, impulse control, and organisational skills, making regular tasks challenging. We at Psych United are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. Our psychiatrist for ADHD in adults and children can help you or your loved ones have a more balanced and productive life.

Possible signs and symptoms of ADHD

  • While each person experiences ADHD symptoms differently, common signs include:
  • Inattention: The difficulty focusing, a tendency for impulsive errors, and the feeling that you are not paying attention—even when someone is speaking directly to you.
  • Hyperactivity: Excessive fidgeting, difficulty staying seated, and talking too much.
  • Impulsivity: Talking over others, difficulty waiting for one’s turn, and making quick decisions without considering consequences.
If you believe that you or someone you know is experiencing these signs, you should consider scheduling a psychiatric consultation with a child or adult ADHD psychiatrist.
